What is your self care routine?

 

I start my day with a glass of lemon water and a couple sun salutes, end with nightly abhyanga. If I am able to fit in a yoga nidra session too, I am very content with myself.

 

Learning to routinely say no has been a big one for my self-care. Filling my cup first before others' is my daily challenge, practice and lesson.

Vanda is a yogini, ayurvedic health advisor, integrative nutrition coach, yoga & meditation teacher, business owner and mother of 2. She is the founder and director of Namaste Highland Park.

Her passion is to help people find the best version of themselves and enjoy the ride! Her coaching is a blend of western nutritional education, ayurvedic counseling, yoga philosophy, warm heart and common sense.

Born and raised in the wine country of eastern Slovakia, Vanda revelled the planes of the old continent in tune with the seasons. Interested in the earth and sky, reiki attuned, Ayurveda trained, Vanda brings playful intuition, ongoing star alignment, and the energies of the season to the yoga room. 

Vanda is passionate about life in rhythm with nature, yogic and ayurvedic lifestyle. Having spent the last decade studying Yoga and Ayurveda, Vanda opened Namaste to help others on their self-care and self-actualization journeys.

 

Vanda founded Namaste Highland Park in 2012. In 2017, while pregnant with her first, Vanda noticed a void in Feminine Wellness offerings so she added a Healing Space at the HLP location offering feminine care, Ayurvedic consultations, pelvic steam, massage & energy healing. This same year Namaste's very own Teacher Training was conceived, with the goal of shaping new teachers equally in Yogic Philosophy as well as Asana instruction. 

 

As a predominantly Vata person, Vanda’s main challenge remains staying put, focusing on one thing at the time and prioritizing self-care. She admits that creating Namaste is her daily reminder to take care of herself and walk the talk. 

 

Besides being a lay practitioner of numerology, astrology, tarot, and herbalism, Vanda holds a Masters Degree in Hospitality & Tourism. She lives in Mt. Washington, Los Angeles with her husband, their two home-born children, and two cats.
