What happens in an Ayurvedic health consultation?

Consultations start with the whole picture of your health (body, mind and spirit). Before the consultation, you’ll fill out a wellness questionnaire that paint a picture about where you have been in your state of health, where you are now and where you can go.


Your practitioner will help you better understand your unique constitutional makeup and ways to uncover your true state of health. You’ll come away with recommendations on what and how to eat, daily routine, Ayurvedic herbs and treatments, aromatherapy, meditation, mantras, energetic healings, Yoga asana and so much more. This is a true holistic practice that can help you find greater balance in every aspect of your life.


Our consultations are designed to show you the light of Ayurveda so you can become your own healer and improve your health, no matter what is thrown in your path.

Initial consultations are 90 minutes to 2 hours to allow for a thorough assessment. Follow-up sessions may be shorter based on your needs.

Where traditional medicine treats the symptoms of disease, Ayurveda treats the whole person – body, mind and spirit.


The practice addresses common complaints like gas and bloating, constipation, chronic headaches, infertility, mental fogginess, eczema and, in many cases, can reverse the disease process.


Ayurveda looks to the root cause of imbalance and treats each person individually. Using diet, herbs, yoga, meditation, breathing exercises (pranayama), lifestyle adjustments  and treatments, you can enjoy an entirely new experience of your body and mind. 

What conditions can Ayurveda address?

Ayurveda is a holistic science that looks at the root of illness and disease. Because of this unique approach, we can address a wide range of issues in the body and mind:

Ayurveda is based on the premise that the universe is made up of five great elements: ether, air, fire, water and earth. These elements are represented in humans by a combination of three “doshas”, called Vata, Pitta and Kapha, biological energies that govern our physical and mental processes.


Vata is associated with wind and air; Pitta with fire; and Kapha with the solidity of earth and water.  We are all born in a perfect balance, but when any of our doshas slip out of balance, we begin to feel uneasy, and that unease, unless dealt with, will ultimately manifest as disease. Luckily, according to the ancient principles of Ayurveda, each person’s doshas can be easily rebalanced, and health and wellbeing can be restored.

Health and dis-ease are viewed as the result of how we interact with our environment. There are many factors, both internal and external, which can disturb one’s natural balance of doshas; emotional and physical stresses, diet and food choices, seasons and weather, physical trauma, work and family relationships.


The first step to creating balance in one’s life is the understanding of one’s constitution (prakruti), and identifying the factors creating imbalance. Balance is achieved in Ayurveda by healing through opposites. for example, if one is overheated, therapies may be cooling in nature. Excessive moisture may need to be dried out. If life is fast-paced, it may need to slow down. If digestion is sluggish, it may need to be stimulated. Routine can bring regularity to other health issues.


The awareness gained from understanding one’s constitution is the essence of Ayurveda and providing the tools to create balance and harmony in life. Ayurveda emphasizes prevention and encourages the maintenance of health by finding one’s true balance of body, mind and spirit.

While Western medicine is valuable, and lifesaving, it tends to treat symptoms in an attempt to eradicate them. Ayurveda seeks to discover the root of the disturbance that has given rise to the symptom, understanding that any symptom is a manifestation of a core imbalance.
